An antique 18th or 19th century Annamese ceramic garden seat from Vietnam with green and blue glaze, raised dragon and flower motifs, pierced top and shaped base. Made of ceramic and boasting a dark blue glaze alternating beautifully with green, this Annamese garden seat is a great example of the long Vietnamese ceramic tradition, particularly in the Annam province, an area heavily influenced by - and once ruled - China. This garden stool, which was also used as a pedestal for a garden planter, features a circular silhouette, beautifully adorned with raised dragons and flower motifs.
The piece showcases a circular top measuring 9.75 inches of diameter, pierced in the center. The sides are also pierced for the handles and adorned with mythical creatures.
